7OS04 Advanced diversity and inclusion looks at how diversity and inclusion are managed at work, especially in communication and training. It deals with how people behave at work and analyses trends. We’ll also study the history and current role of trade unions and line managers in creating a fair workplace. The class emphasises how UK laws play a part, and it goes beyond just following rules – it also looks at how decisions affect the well-being and engagement of the workforce, and the problems caused by inequality and segregation.
What will you learn
In this course, you’ll learn about diversity and inclusion, exploring various aspects that make up the UK’s workforce, both visible and hidden. We’ll also look at important trends and changes in the job market over the years. You’ll analyze concepts like vertical occupation and time segregation, and study economic theories and data sources. Using real examples, you’ll assess instances of disadvantage and inequality.
